Holes

At the next morning, Zero is very week but still alive. He tells Stanley that he was the one who stole the shoes of Clyde Livingston.

Zero can't walk anymore and so Stanley carries him up the mountain. He discoveres a mudy place. Stanley dig hole and this hole filles with whater. Nearby he also finds some onions and gives it Zero to eat.

They reach the "Big Thumb" and climb up. For Zero it gets more and more difficult and the tricks worked before have no effect on him anymore.

At the next day they start their walk towards "Big Thumb". On the way Zero got the biggest problems, because he is poisoned by the Sploosh. On the way they are playing wordgames to keep them in a good mood. At the middel of the day they reach a point where they have to climbe up. Only by helping each other they manage to reach the top.

Zero shows Stanley the cave under the earth where he lives for 4 days now. He also tells him about the sixteen jars of Sploosh he had eaten. Later, Stanley discovers that the name of the Ship is Mary Lou. This was the name of Sams doncy.
A short time later, Zero gets a horrible stomache wich is caused by the sploosh. Originaly Stanley want to rescue Zero, but he absolutely refuses to go back to the camp.

Stanley contiues his walk towards "Big Thumb" wich is a mountain formed like a Thumb. On is way he recognize the broken peaces of a boat. In a tunnel unter the boat he finds Zero.

Stanley walks towards the deset and after he leave the last hole behind him, he finds something that looks like a small rock. By coming nearer he notices that this was the sunflowerseeds they had stolen from Mr Sir.

A new delinquens is assined to groop D, because of stealing cars. Stanley remain worring about Zero, and so he steals the water truck to search for him. A short time later, the truck crashes into one of the holes. Though he has no truck anymore, he runs away to find Zero.

After there was no sign of Zero at the next day, the Warden decided to delete all of Zeros records and pretend he was never there.

The boys get more and more angry on Stanley, because they think it is unfair that he gets his hole dug. Because of that, Zigzag tries to kill him but he was chased away by Zero. After the Warden startes to humiliate him, he runs away.
