Holes

The Warden dosen't care at all about Mr Sirs sunflower-seeds-problem. She takes a poisones nailpainting and poisons Mr Sir by putting some of this into his face. He won't be dead, she calmed.

When the water truck came. Magnet steals the sack of sunflowers. All together eat them and beacuse of a unlucky coinsidence the sack was in Stanleys hole when the Watertruck comes. Stanley saceficed himself to protect the others and Mr Sir brings him to the Warden.

At the next day, they the boys have to dig again their own holes al usual. After finishing, Stanley has another chat with Zero in wich he learns, tha Zero can nether read nor witer. Stanley also finds out, that Zero has no family and that Zero would like Stanley to teache him how to read. Stanley refuses this.

At the next day the Warden becomes vionlente towards one of the boy for no reason. Also the atmosthere between the boys gets worst and some time later ZigZag hit Stanley with his showel (also for no reason) and Stanley collapsed. ZigZag doesn't get punished and Stanly has to get back to work.

After Stanley has given the tube to Xrey, Xrey is more friendly towards Stanley and he makes the others also be more friendly to Sanley.
On the next day, the Warden is loosing her patience. She pushes the boys to work faster and longer than all others.
At the tents Stanley has his first chat with Zero who learns about Stanleys family.

The Warden makes them all together expand the Xrey's hole, where she thinks the golden tube was found. Half of the boys have to check in the earth the others dug out, in case the diggers missed anything.

Xrey gives the golden tube to Mr Pendanski. Because of this found, the Warden comes over. She is an authoritative woman. Because of personal reasons, she needs the boys to dig the hole wider and to motivate them, she gives them more water.

In this chapter Stanley finds a golden tube with the letters K.B. written on it. As promised he gives it to Xrey. For this reason Stanley gets promoted and is allowed to stand in front of Zero while waiting for the water truck.

Back in the tents, all the other boys are m friendlier to Stanley. Mr Pendanski talks to them about their later carreer. All the boys say what they really want to be (e.g. monkey trainer) Only Stanley doesnt't tell them the truth and also Zero pretends that he would like to keep digging holes.

After talking with Xrey, Stanley agrees to hand him out anything he would find. Because of this, Xrey changes his attitude towards Stanley. For Xrey he is now "a good guy".

In this chapter Stanley finds a fossile while digging his hole. He gives it to Mr Pendanski but he says that the Warden is not at all interested in fossiles.

Stanley takes a cold shower, then he goes to the wreak room. In the beginning Caveman is bullying Stanley and after a while the other boys tell him how terrible the next hole will be. After that Stanley writes a letter to his mum. At the end, he asks Zero questions about him stealing the shoes. Finally they go to dinner.

Yellow-spotted lizareds are six to ten inches long animals wich live in holes on the Camp because they like the shadow. They have 11 small spots and they seem to be very dangerous. I has a white tongue and black teeth.

In this Chapter we learn about the conditions at Camp Greenlake and why Stanly is sent there.
The living conditions at the camp are very poor, the food is terrible and the clothes are smelly. On request Stanly explains why he was arrested. While he was walking down the street, suddenly a pair of sneakers came flying from the sky. Without thinking he put them on and then started to run. Because of this, he was stopped by a police car. Later he found out, that the boots are from his favourit basketball player, Mr Livestone.

In this chapter, Stanly meets the other members of his group and his consoul.
The camp is organized in six groups, each of them with one consoul. The one looking after group D, where Stanly is in, is called Mr. Pendanski. He is much younger than Mr. Sir and also more sympathetic. Mr. Pendanski talks to Stanly in a normal way and explains to him that Stanly is at the camp because he made a mistake, but now Mr. Pendanski is going to help him to change. Then he calls some of the boys of group D. All of them have nicknames but they are all humiliating. The boys call each other by their nicknames, but Mr. Pendanski calls them by their real names though they dislike this. Only one boy, who is called Zero, is called by his nickname by all of them, because they think he is stupid.

This chapter is about Stanly meeting a man called Mr Sir, who has got most of the time most power in the camp.
After leaving the bus Stanly is brought to Mr Sir. He is a scary looking man who is currently in a bad mood because he has stopped smoking. He seems to be quite nice to the guard and the other employees but he doesn't care about the kids. For example he says to Stanly, that he wouldn't waste a bullet for Stanly if he tried to run away, because Stanly will die of thirst out there anyway.
